It’s easy to convince yourself that it’s not worth doing that thing that you had previously convinced yourself was an answer to many problems!
This is a call to doing things in little pieces, and appreciating what you’ve achieved by doing that.
Don’t feel like meditating/praying/whatever-is-your-inner-journey this morning? Go on, try it for a minute, I’m sure it’s not that bad.
Feel like giving up on your morning fast to have the quick breakfast? Hold off another minute and see. Maybe you’ll clock in a couple of more hours. Those minutes will in themselves add up to something bigger.
In the book The Kaizen Way, Robert Maurer lays out the case for starting really small. It’s easy to convince yourself that doing three pushups are not worth it, so you won’t do them. So then, what’s the last time you did any pushups?
